Congregation members demonstrated "swift valor" in stopping the attacker from gaining entry, authorities reported

A rabbi has shared the instant when a man sought to force his way into his city Jewish temple during a fatal assault, remarking "I saw evil, I witnessed hatred".

The cleric mentioned that he and others held the doors of the worship house as the assailant was "ramming the gateways, flinging weighty flower containers, trying everything he was able to to enter".

Praising the fast-acting of those at the worship center, he remarked: "I observed genuine bravery, I have to say, and worshippers who rushed to assist fellow members rather than escaping. It was remarkable."

One victim, and A 66-year-old man, both succumbed after the assailant hit individuals and stabbed a man on Thursday.

  • Three people continue to be in the hospital with critical harm.
  • Authorities have named Jihad Al-Shamie, who was shot dead at the scene, as the individual responsible and are classifying the incident as a terrorist event.
"I saw evil": The cleric recalls time of synagogue incident

The cleric explained that the event happened before the holiday observance was in full flow, and later there would have been many of individuals in participation.

He remarked: "Unless one individual in particular did not act as swiftly as he managed and got the doors secured, one can picture what would have happened."

Explaining how the incident unfolded, he said a group of worshippers maintained the gateways secured from the interior to guarantee the assailant could not gain entry.

Eventually after the authorities came, rabbi Walker said two other individuals inside the building were hurt.

One man was fatally shot and someone else injured by police gunfire, law enforcement has reported.

A announcement from the force identified the man who died by officers as Mr Daulby.

Talking to reporters, the cleric stated he would do his best to offer support to the families of those deceased and the broader public.

"Exists apprehension but there is also support", he said.

"I believe and hope that we can offer reassurance and hope. I feel very deeply that we must not allow this to beat us".

The national leader and observers have applauded the spiritual leader and the protection staff as "courageous people" for their actions.

When inquired if he considered himself as a brave person, he responded: "I don't believe that is correct".

However, a bystander at the site mentioned the spiritual leader had remained composed throughout as he and additional individuals guided the gathering to security.

The family of the deceased has also paid tribute to their "brave individual" who lost his life during "the action of bravery to rescue others".

"The family is surprised by the tragic, sudden death of such a kind down to earth man" the statement added, as the family requested for solitude to grieve.
