Check out 29 Fresh Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Expansion (Including a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)
The world's favorite pizza-eating superheroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive event hosted at New York Comic Con. Is this a exciting new set or yet another crossover marketing move? We'll let you decide.
Take a look here at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with some useful context. All items listed below launches on March 6, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27.
MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals
Before we get into all the various unique products and collections available, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by the developers. Play boosters for the set are set at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.
Let’s explore a few surprising details. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where gamers can cheat powerful creatures onto the battlefield whenever an attacking creature goes unblocked. The big difference in this case is that this new ability can apply to non-creature spells as well. The designers also used this chance to clean up the ability a bit (It counts as casting, unlike Ninjutsu). The original ability isn't going away, but chances are players will encounter Sneak in future sets moving forward.
Should we go back to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use the original ability since that's where it originated and it’s a hallmark of that world,” an experienced game designer explained. “But in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and the new ability is what's going to be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use the updated version.”
That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is one of four special cards with special art created exclusively for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman.
Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards that aren't in your main deck, so was I. But as per the developers, it’s now a official card in every format of Magic.
Anyway, here are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from this set:
Following the company’s current policy, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers say they took care to ensure the new cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.
“I led the design for 15 months and we knew it was going to be in standard and which sets would be alongside it in Standard,” a lead designer says. “Our goal was to ensure that they work well with some of those sets including Edge of Eternities.”
For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red strategy built around artifact cards.
“They combine to provide the components for a fun Standard deck,” he added.
Commander Deck: Turtle Power!
Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it includes six different legendary cards who could work as your Commander depending on how you pair them (five of the cards include a unique Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command zone instead of just one). Check them out below:
This Commander deck is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise based on popularity. Sources indicated that it includes 43 brand-new cards altogether, which translates to an additional 37 Turtle-themed game cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Calculating roughly, this suggests about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the deck includes 37 lands.)
What will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and see.
TMNT Bundle (Regular)
Typically, Wizards is offering a bundle. This one is priced at $69.99 and includes the following:
- 9 Standard Boosters
- 15 Traditional foil land cards
- 15 Non-foil land cards
- 2 Reference cards

Pizza Bundle
This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it is packaged in what looks like a pizza box. Each pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and includes the items below:
- 9 Play Boosters
- One Collector Booster
- Twenty-five Non-foil pizza lands
- Five Foil pizza basic lands
- Two Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
- 2 helper cards

If you’re wondering what a “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s basically a reprint of an older card with all-new Turtle-themed artwork. Wizards revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza. There are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards available.
This special bundle launches a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.
Draft Bundle
This unique product is made for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

Cooperative Play Set
Lastly, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic products specifically for new players. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that allow two players join forces against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.
The general idea is that each Boss card gives special abilities to the creatures included in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
